One of the biggest barriers to employment for justice-impacted women is the stigma of a felony conviction. Combined with gender disparities, women with felony records face unique challenges, making them “double minorities” in the labor market.

At The HelpKC, we work to connect women with employers who are willing to look beyond past convictions and focus on the skills and work ethic these women bring to the table. By offering opportunities based on skills, not past mistakes, employers help create a fairer workforce and contribute to long-term community stability.

When justice-involved women remain unemployed for extended periods, the risk of turning to alternative sources of income increases. By giving these women a chance, employers are not just offering a job; they’re providing a pathway to economic stability and helping reduce recidivism.

Volunteer with Us!
